Fuzhou- part 2 (China: 5 of 6)

Overall I love Chinese food. The way they cook the veggies are so good. They are perfectly cooked, seasoned and spicy. Broccolis, soybeans, cauliflower, carrots, cucumber, potato (sliced really thin) are all really good. They also LOVE watermelon in China. It’s everywhere and served at almost every meal (even at breakfast).

The ministry in Fuzhou was incredible. Our students shared with those in our program and others they met during our time here. Over 16 people came to Christ. It’s really awesome to see a student’s face light up when they share that they were a part of a Chinese that accepted Christ as their savior. As our students led Chinese students to Christ the Christian community grows and the faith of the students on our team grows as well.

Fuzhou- part 1 (China: 4 of 6)

Noting is as it seems in China, especially with the food. You think something will be sweet and then it's salty or savory.... or vice versa. Oh and the chicken feet. They are everywhere, at the supermarkets, on the street, and in corner shops.

We stayed in dorms at a small university in Fuzhou. We did laundry by hand, used a ‘spinner’ to get the water out of the clothes and then hung them to dry in the bathroom. The bathroom had a shower head over the toilet, it was very cozy!

Our neighborhood was very busy with lots of different restaurants (even Western ones… like McDonalds- there’s nothing better than McDonald’s cheeseburger and fries when you are overseas for a long time) and lots of shops and a night market. The students on our team loved it!

The program looked a little different than in ShiShi. We worked with 50 Chinese students from 6 years old to high school age. Rainer was in charge of this entire program and did an amazing job. Our team was divided up into 8 groups and organized the program time with games, skits, songs, sharing and dances. Each morning opened with one of our students sharing their testimony and a translator helping them out. Then the team taught the group a Bible song or had worship. Because this is a private program we can share the gospel openly.
