Our kind Sunday School class

Our Sunday School class supported us with supplies for our mission trip this summer (paper products, duct tape, extension cords and more). Along with Pete's Sunday School class they prayed over us and the summer trip with Royal Servants. We are so thankful to God for the people He has put in our lives. Thanks to Tom for great Bible teaching!

Learning from God's Word

Is my prayer submissive?

I am currently studying the Lord's Prayer. Jesus said to the disciples " Pray then like this" Matt 6:9. The Lord gave us this prayer not just to recite over and over but to give us a blueprint on how to talk with God.

Today I studied the verse "Your Kingdom come, your will be done "Matt 6:10. God showed me that I was emphasizing the words Kingdom and will, not the word Your. I wasn't praying with an attitude of submission. My prayers should be focused on God's will and His kingdom when I pray. Not my kingdom or my will. That changes the way I pray entirely. I know He wants to hear my worries and concerns because He cares for me, but I also need to pray with a submissive heart.

Jesus prayed before going to the cross "Father if you are willing, remove this cup away from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done. " Luke 22:42. I'm learning that its not always going to be easy to pray "Your kingdom and Your will be done", It can cost everything.
