Is my prayer
submissive?
I am currently
studying the Lord's Prayer. Jesus said to the disciples " Pray then like this" Matt 6:9. The Lord gave us this prayer not just
to recite over and over but to give us a blueprint on how to talk with God.
Today I studied
the verse "Your Kingdom come, your
will be done "Matt 6:10. God showed me that I was emphasizing the
words Kingdom and will, not the word Your. I
wasn't praying with an attitude of submission. My prayers should be focused on God's will and His kingdom when I pray. Not my
kingdom or my will. That changes the
way I pray entirely. I know He wants to hear my worries and concerns because He
cares for me, but I also need to pray with a submissive heart.
Jesus prayed
before going to the cross "Father
if you are willing, remove this cup away from me. Nevertheless, not my will,
but yours, be done. " Luke
22:42. I'm learning that its not always going to be easy to pray "Your kingdom and Your will be done", It can cost everything.
