Rest, beach & family

The last two weeks have been a refreshing time with family and each other. We got away to the beach for a couple days and then to a family reunion at the lake house.

Praise the Lord

"Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18

One of the best things we've ever seen. Our baby growing, kicking and hearing the heart beat. We are 11 weeks. Now the official due date is March 3, 2014. We feel so blessed. Thank to everyone who has been praying for us and this baby.

Headed home

After almost 6 weeks in Europe & the UK, and being gone since May 21, we are headed home. It's been a wonderful summer of ministry, relationships, learning and adventures. Pray for safe travels for all of us and a good welcome and return home for the students.

London

We have been in London for a week now. We have been doing lots of different types of ministry. We started debriefing this weekend, and then fly back to America in just a few days!

We have been working with a holiday club (doing a VBS program) in East London. Part of our team goes to help with that everyday. We have been doing ministry in the local community around where we are staying. We have been doing ministry with the church we are staying at, including cleaning the church. The students have enjoyed staying in one place for a few days. They have loved all the different cultures they have been learning about and all the people we have ministered too.

For Mitch

Mitch was my grandfather. Married to Babbie for 65 years. He passed away this year at 89 years. He was kind and funny. I miss him. We are now in London staying at a church north of the city, doing ministry. When we walked into the church, everything reminded me of him. He was British. Something about the building, the smells, the sites and sounds, all reminded me of him. When I went to the local grocery store, I came across the tea brand, P&G tips.... Mitch's favorite tea. Today he would have been 90 years old.

Paris

We had a great couple days in Paris. The students love Paris. They love seeing the sites they've always seen in movies, but seeing them in person. They love eating Panini's and Crepes. They love doing ministry with the locals. They love performing in the city squares.

We did 3 street performances in the crowded

The students had lots of great conversations.

Beautiful stained glass. My art students
would love to see this in person! They all
made "stained glass" windows this year.

Crème brulee in Paris. Yum.

We love seeing how excited the students
get when we come to the tower.

My 3rd time here, but it never gets old.

 Sparkle!
Some of the girl students got choked up,
saying how beautiful it was. So sweet.

This has been our view out of the coach for a month.

Back to London. No more coach. We'll miss
doing ministry all over Europe with the team,
but excited about the ministry in London!
