Theme Verse & Worship

We have a theme verse that everyone at training camp learns:

Student Week



We were driving up to training camp in the school buses with hundreds of students and people cheering outside, and our bus driver says, "this is a different world". Haha

 

Welcome to training camp! Rainer and I are so excited about our team and this summer. The discipleship leaders have been growing into their leadership positions and doing great. We have enjoyed getting to know our whole team! The days are long and full, but our team has been learning a lot. Some of the many teachings have been on absolute truth, identity in Christ, evangelism and more.

Please pray for energy for Rainer and I as we are starting a full week with long days from before 5 am through 10 pm. Pray for our team as we continue to grow relationships, and pray for hearts to be open this summer and for our students to grow in their relationships with Christ.

 

 

 

 

Staff Discipler week

The lack of posts this week is a testament to how busy staff disciple week is at training camp. We go all day and night with activities, quiet times, talks, worship and more. We are training our team for the summer and to lead their discipleship groups. It has been a week full of ups, downs, growth and stretching. We have a great team and we can't wait for the students to arrive this weekend.

Madison

Rainer and I went to Madison this week to pick up the other member of our senior staff, Christina (I'll post a picture of us with her later). She goes to school in Seattle and is doing medical for our team this summer. She's awesome.
Camp has been growing as various people and groups arrive daily. We have been meeting, training and praying for our team and our staff disciplers! We are headed to Chicago to pick them up today!

Lately...

We are into assistant's week at training camp. All the assistants for the teams and the Nehemiah team (a student Alumni team where the trip is longer, they go to Israel and it has more in-depth teaching) came in this past Saturday. I've been mowing more grass and went on a huge food shopping trip to Madison and Rainer has been working with Hank (Ireland team leader) assisting with building & construction projects. Sunday we started meetings with all the senior staff and task specific training (food, finance & medical).

We can see a wind farm from camp. At night they have blinking red lights that look like spaceships landing!

Six different stores, 9 hours and this is only for about a

week of training camp and some food for teams overseas.

Our "home"

We wanted to give you a tour of where we are living for the 35 days we are at training camp. We have nice 11' x 11' tent, tucked in what we call "the cove".

That's our clothesline on the left tree.

Our blow-up mattress on top of our cots (that we will take overseas)

with drawers beside our bed and plastic bins underneath.

This photo makes it look huge, but really, there's no where to

stand straight up. However, we only really sleep here and

the bed is comfortable so that's all that matters!

Training Camp

We have been in Wisconsin for a week now getting training camp ready for the summer. Although, it doesn't feel like summer today! Burrrr! We will be here until July 2nd when we will fly out of O'Hare in Chicago for London. Here is our schedule:

Week 1.5+ - Doing lots of projects getting camp ready; Reign staff week
Week 2 - Assistants week
Week 3 - Staff Discipler week
Week 4+ - Student week
